PROVO, Utah – BYU gymnastics welcomes Central Michigan and Utah State to the Smith Fieldhouse Friday for senior night.

“This is going to be a really fun meet,” BYU gymnastics coach Brad Cattermole said. “Our last meet was not our best and sometimes that lights a fire underneath. We want to come back and really show what we’re capable of doing in our last home meet against two good teams.”

Friday’s tri-meet will be the last home meet of the season before heading off to Utah State and Denver for the Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference Championship.

The Cougars’ floor team scored a season-high 49.250 last Friday against Boise State and moved up from 31st to 18th in the nation.

Seniors KayCee Gassaway, Ashley Robinson and Jordan Schult will be honored following the meet. Gassaway recorded career highs on bars and floor with a 9.875 each this season. Robinson earned a season-high 9.750 on beam, while Schult recorded career highs on vault (9.875), beam (9.775) and floor (9.850).

“Our seniors this year have all been great for us,” Cattermole said. “They’re kids that we love and we’re going to miss them when they’re not here, but we’re also excited about what life holds for those three. They’ll be wonderful representatives of BYU and BYU gymnastics for years to come.”

The meet will begin at 7 p.m. MST with live stats found on the BYU gymnastics schedule page
