PROVO, Utah – The BYU women’s swim and dive team will be in Northern California this weekend taking on the UC Davis Aggies in a dual meet Saturday.

“It should be a tough meet, they were the conference champions last year and they’re the team to beat,” head coach John Brooks said. “We are swimming outdoors and we had a rough time adjusting to that in Santa Barbara because it’s a little different environment."

The Cougars are coming off a loss to UNLV and are looking to turn things around and get their first win of the season with the help of Vanessa Moffatt and Ciera Marsh Keller. Moffatt won the 1,000-yard freestyle against the Rebels, while Keller touched the wall first in the 100-yard backstroke.

Ali Tippetts won her first dive event of the year when she scored a 239.25 in the women’s 1-meter. Mackenzie Rands picked up a win in the 3-meter dive.

"Our team is young and we’d love to win the meet," Brooks said. "But most importantly, we want to build off last week and keep improving.”

UC Davis is 2-2 on the season and is coming off a loss to Nevada last week. The Aggies are the defending Mountain Pacific Sports Federation champions and have won three of the last four conference championships.

The meet begins at 11 a.m. MST and for results following the meet check the women’s swim schedule page.
