Divisional bylaws shall be designed to promote informed decisions and balance the interests of prospective and current (or transfer) student-athletes, their educational institutions and intercollegiate athletics as a whole.

Information for Recruits

NCAA Division I legislation outlines "recruiting periods" which dictate when coaches are permitted to engage in off-campus recruiting activities (i.e., face-to-face contact with a recruit and/or family members and in-person evaluating of a recruit's athletic and/or academic ability).

2026-27 NCAA Division I Signing Dates

Division I Sports (Other than Football & Basketball)

  • Initial Signing Date: November 11, 2026
  • Final Signing Date: Depends on university 

Division I Basketball

Early Period

  • Initial Signing Date: November 11, 2026
  • Final Signing Date: November 18, 2026

Regular Period

  • Initial Signing Date: April 27, 2027
  • Final Signing Date: Depends on university 

Division I Football

Early Period

  • Initial Signing Date: December 2, 2026
  • Final Signing Date: December 4, 2026

Midyear Two-Year College Transfers

  • Initial Signing Date: December 2, 2026
  • Final Signing Date: Depends on university 

Regular Period
