HOUSTON — No. 45 BYU women's tennis defeated Houston 4-0 for its sixth consecutive victory and second straight Big 12 Conference win. BYU improved to 10-1 on the season and 2-0 in conference play.
“This weekend was a grind and it feels good to come home with two Big 12 road wins," said head coach Holly Hasler. "These ladies have entered conference play with a massive amount of positive energy and fight. To be honest , we were ready and it’s just fun being out there with a team that’s all-in. It’s only going to get tougher, but this was a pretty great way to get started."
No. 71 nationally ranked Bobo Huang remains unbeaten. The junior improved to 9-0 in singles on the season with her win over Laura Slisane.
Senior Emilee Astle improved to 5-1 in singles and clinched the overall match victory for the Cougars with her win over Nina Skoric.
Sophomore Tina Li picked up her seventh singles victory of the season over Sophie Schouten and improved to 7-3.
The remaining singles matches were left unfinished.
