GILBERT, Ariz. – BYU hosted another successful Fan Fest and devotional last weekend, this time in Phoenix, Ariz.

The final of two BYU Fan Fests this spring — Fan Fest Gilbert — took place at Gilbert Regional Park on Saturday, followed by a devotional on Sunday at the Mesa Institute of Religion.

BYU men’s basketball players Dallin Hall, Richie Saunders and Dawson Baker were joined by Arizona natives Micah Harper (Chandler), Darius Lassiter (Chandler), Jackson Bowers (Mesa) and Mata’ava Ta’ase (Mesa) from the Cougar football team. Chase Roberts, Jake Retzlaff, Keelan Marion, Ace Kaufusi, Talan Alfrey, Siale Esere and Jakob Robinson along with defensive coordinator Jay Hill, special teams coordinator Kelly Poppinga and cornerbacks coach Jernaro Gilford from football were also in attendance to meet and interact with fans.

During the two-hour event, Cougar enthusiasts in attendance had the opportunity to get autographed posters, interact and take photos with student-athletes, coaches and Cosmo. Inflatable slides, bounce houses, lawn games, face painting and a live DJ were also part of the event.

BYUtv hosted a special one-hour Saturday episode of BYU Sports Nation with Spencer Linton and Jarom Jordan interviewing Baker, Saunders, Epps, Roberts, Lassiter, Marion, Alfrey, Harper, Bowers and Ta’ase.

Sunday’s devotional hosted at the Mesa Institute of Religion saw members from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and visitors gather to be enlightened by the messages from Roberts, Ta’ase, Kaufusi and Hill.
