Men's golf finished The Goodwin in sixth, Kim and Akina with top 25 finishes

The BYU men’s golf team finished sixth at 8-over-par with rounds of 280-288-280–848 at The Goodwin after three days of play this week at TPC Harding Park. Peter Kim and Keanu Akina finished in the top 25.

PALO ALTO, California—The BYU men’s golf team finished sixth at 8-over-par with rounds of 280-288-280–848 at The Goodwin after three days of play this week at TPC Harding Park. Peter Kim and Keanu Akina finished in the top 25. 

Georgia secured the team title at 1-under for the tournament, with Utah close behind at even par. Stanford, Tennessee and Georgia Tech rounded out the top five. 

Kim finished in a tie for 18th at 1-over-par, with rounds of 72-71-68–211, including a final round of 2-under with three birdies. Akina (68-73-71–212) tied for 36th at 2-over-par for the tournament. 

Zac Jones (T-33, 71-72-70–213; +3), Max Brenchley (T-80, 72-72-75–219; +9) and Cooper Jones (T-111, 69-81-71–221; +11) rounded out the scoring for the Cougar squad, while Brock Goyen (T-154, 74-83-72–229; +19) played as an individual.

The Cougars will next play at The Western Intercollegiate at Pasatiempo Golf Course in Santa Cruz, California, on April 15-17.
