PROVO, Utah — The Cougars took four-straight points against the Utes, marking their first victory against Utah as Big 12 opponents and second in-conference win this season.
BYU is now 12-6 this season, 7-1 at home and 2-3 in Big 12 play.
"Today we focused on playing with heart," said head coach Holly Hasler. "Every one of these ladies bought in and it was a privilege to be on court with such fight and grit. After a week of really disciplined practice, this is a huge step in the right direction and should build some great confidence as we hit the road next week."

Levelston and Tullis only allowed two games from their opponents with a 6-2 finish. Huang and Tan took the second doubles match with a 6-3 win, clinching the doubles point for BYU.
Kovick and Bluestein left their match unfinished at 5-3.

Bluestein took the first singles point for BYU in two sets. Kovick took her first set 6-2 and won two-straight games after being tied 5-5 in the second set, putting the Cougars up 3-0.
Huang gained an early lead in the first set, but her opponent took it to a tiebreak. Huang was down 1-3 but came back to win it 7-5, taking the first set 7-6. She finished off her match with a 6-3 second set, securing a 4-0 victory for BYU.
Levelston won her first set 6-3 and made a comeback with three-straight games in the second set after being down 2-4. With Huang's win, Levelston left her second set unfinished at 5-5.
