The Cougars picked up a 14-0 win at Utah Valley in their midweek on Tuesday, their fifth-straight win after also run-ruling Utah Tech by 14 to sandwich a series sweep at Houston last week. BYU has three separate five-game win streaks this season.
Ilove'a Brittingham, who was named in Softball America's Freshman Power Rankings this week, led the way against the Wolverines with a pair of home runs in the same inning, leading off the fifth inning with a solo shot before hammering a grand slam later in the frame to cap off a six RBI night.
Jaelynn Lambert joined the party as the ninth Cougar to homer in 2025. She sent out a two-run jack, also in the fifth inning, for the first home run of her collegiate career, a rocket to center field.
BYU outhit UVU, 11 to three in the contest, also benefitting from three Wolverine errors. The Cougars scored in all but the fourth inning of the five-inning run-rule game, backed by Kate Dahle who went the distance, giving up just three hits while striking out five on the night.
Picking up both its first Big 12 series win and sweep of the season at Houston last week, BYU homered nine times across the three games. The Cougars have hit at least one home run in each of their last seven games and are averaging three dingers per game over their last four.
Lindy Milkowski paced BYU in Houston with four home runs. She, Hailey Morrow and Brittingham each posted a multi-homer game, with Bre Townsend also sending out a long bomb in the series.
Lily Owens led the way with a .556 batting average, while Milkowski finished with a team-high 1.636 slugging percentage, just ahead of Morrow's 1.000. Owens and Morrow scored four runs apiece in the series.
Jada Villegas spent the majority of the innings in the circle for the Cougars, tossing 8.2 innings on a trio of appearances as she picked up a win and a save on the weekend. Villegas posted a 0.00 ERA and Houston batters hit just .103 against her in the series.
As a team, BYU ranks in the top 25 nationally in five statistical categories, led by ERA, where the Cougars' 1.90 average ranks No. 4. BYU also has Kaysen Korth and Brittingham within the top 25 of five individual statistics. Korth's four saves are good for No. 8 in the country and Brittingham's 1.38 RBI per game rank 10th.
Hosting their first home game in 335 days, the Cougars will face a Top 25 opponent for just the second time this season with a ranked Arizona squad coming to Provo.
