BYU track and field saw a school-record outing in the men's 4x200-meter relay with a time of 1:23.31.

AUSTIN, Texas — The BYU track and field men's and women's programs finished competition at the Texas Relays and Bobcat Invitationals Saturday, headlined by a school record performance in the men's 4x200-meter relay.

Men's Recap

The highlight of the day came in the men's 4x200-meter relay where the BYU squad ran a school record of 1:23.31 at the Texas Relays. The crew composed of Eli Hazlett, Josh Taylor, Riley Hunt and Ty Oustrich  took down the previous record of 1:23.38 that had held since the 2017 outdoor season. 

Relays were on display as the 4x100m relay also showed out in Austin with a 40.12 outing. The relay team composed Logan Hubler, Riley Hunt, Dallin Draper and Trey Jackson. Draper has recently returned to competition as he did not compete in the indoor track and field season due to injury. 

The 4x800-meter crew composed of Jake Orr, Kyle Lund, Hayden Gray and Brayden Packard finished in 7:29.22 for a third-place overall finish. 

 

Women's Recap

Cortnie Barker placed third in the women's high jump at the Bobcat Invitational. The freshman from Syracuse, Utah cleared a collegiate best of 1.76m/5-9.25.

The Cougars' 4x200m relay team of Sami Oblad, Emily Ellis-Dalley, Paje Rasmussen and Katie Hutchings placed sixth at the Texas Relays with a time of 1:36.09.

Pole Vaulter Maren Garnett followed up her BYU No. 2 4.30m/14-1.25 clearance yesterday with a 4.22m/13-10 jump at the Texas Relays. Garnett placed 11th overall in the university elite section.
