ORLANDO, Fla. — BYU’s doubles team of Kovick and Levelston delivered a dominant performance Thursday, advancing to the NCAA Doubles Championship Round of 16 for the first time since 1993 with a 6-1, 6-1 win over San Diego State.

Kovick and Levelston controlled the match from the opening game, breaking early in both sets and applying steady pressure at the net. Their consistency on returns and clean serving helped them close out each set in under 30 minutes, marking one of their most efficient outings of the season.

With the historic victory, the duo becomes the first Cougar pairing in more than three decades to reach the second round of the national championship event.

Kovick and Levelston return to action Friday against North Carolina at 4 p.m. ET. Court assignment is still to be determined.
