BYU Dive set to compete in Colorado for Air Force Invite

The team will be one of ten programs competing in the meet.

PROVO, Utah – BYU dive is set to compete at the Cadet Natatorium in Colorado Springs, Colorado this week for the Air Force Invite.

Led by head coach Tyce Routson, it will be BYU dive’s second dive-only meet of the season as the Cougars look to solidify their efforts before championship season.

BYU is coming off a home competition at the Richard Building Pool against Air Force and CMU. Sophomore Martí Llop swept the board in the competition with first place finishes in the 1m and 3m events. Ashton Sparks and Elijah Baker also earned fifth and sixth place finishes in the meet.

On the women’s side, Sophia DeBergh earned a third place finish in the 3m event with a 270.45. Brooklyn Goeckertiz also earned a fifth place finish. Goeckeritz also placed fifth in the 1m event and DeBergh earned seventh.

Following this week’s meet, BYU will return to Provo to face Utah alongside the swim team on Friday, Feb. 6, at 6 p.m. MST.
