PROVO, Utah — No. 47 BYU women’s tennis put on a dominant home-court performance Friday morning, sweeping Weber State 7-0 at the BYU Indoor Tennis Courts and setting the tone early with emphatic doubles play before rolling through singles.

The Cougars wasted no time grabbing momentum, locking up the doubles point with convincing wins on courts two and three. Kendall Kovick and Sage Bergeson raced out to a 5-0 victory on court two, never allowing Weber State to settle in. Moments later, Bella Lewis and Sue Yan Tan completed a 6-0 shutout on court three to secure the opening point for BYU. On court one, Gracie Levelston and Karina Mohamed were locked in a back-and-forth battle before the match was halted with the teams tied 3-3.

Singles play followed the same script, with BYU controlling the pace across the lineup. Levelston powered through court one with a 6-4, 6-0 win, using big serves and relentless pressure to pull away in the second set. Kovick stayed steady on court two, earning a 6-2, 6-2 victory behind strong baseline play and consistency in key moments.

Yan Tan battled through longer rallies on court three to secure a 6-2, 6-4 win, while Bergeson was the first Cougar off the court, cruising to a commanding 6-0, 6-1 victory on court four. Lewis continued BYU’s momentum with a 6-2, 6-0 win on court five, showcasing aggressive play early to take control of the match. Mohamed capped off the sweep on court six with a 6-0, 6-2 victory, sealing the Cougars’ fourth straight shutout of the season.

With the win, BYU improved to 10-1 on the year and extended its home winning streak this spring.
