PROVO, Utah – The Cougars are set to compete at the USC Ron and Sharlene Alice Trojan Invitational at Allyson Felix Field at Loker Track Stadium on March 27-28.

On Friday, March 27 Mark Bryant will spearhead the competition for the throws group in both the discus and hammer throw. The redshirt freshman will make his first collegiate appearance in the hammer throw a week after taking first overall in the discus at the Utah Tech Invite with a throw of 52.22m/171-4. Bryant will be joined in both events by his brother Erik Bryant and his teammate Tyler Poole. All three throwers will then participate in the shot put the next day.

On Saturday, March 28 Kaden Passey and Jayden Jessee will open competition in the long jump. Passey will also make an appearance in the 400-meter alongside All-American athletes Josh Taylor and Jonah Heimuli. Taylor Currently holds the no. 3 all-time BYU record in the event with a 45.74 second performance he set during the 2025 season. Heimuli will also compete in the 200-meter.

Jessee is set to also compete in the 110-meter hurdles and the 400-meter hurdles, events that will also feature appearances from Treyton Anderson and Garrett Copelin with All-American Jaden Roskelley appearing in the 110m hurdles and Brayden Dahl in the 400m hurdles.. Copelin set a meet record at the Utah Tech invitational a week earlier in the 400-meter hurdles to take first overall in the event at the meet.

BYU pole vaulters Dallin Thornton and Silas Zimmerman will make their outdoor season debuts Saturday with Roskelley, Hayden Gribble, Carson Riner and Brinton Paulson opening up the outdoor season in the javelin throw. Gribble will also appear in the high jump alongside Carter Walker and Connor Saunders.

The Cougars will also suit up a 4x100-meter relay team and a 4x400-meter team.
