SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. — Maria Jose “MJ” Barragan ended the NCAA Louisville Regional with a  2-over 74 final round at University of Louisville Golf Club on Wednesday to finish her season.”

“We’re super proud of MJ and all that she gave this week,” head coach Carrie Roberts said. She left it all out there and we’re super proud of a really good finish and a really good event.” 

Barragan’s 54-hole scorecard featured a 69-70-74–213 score to put her tied for 11th at 3-under par, placing her as the second-lowest individual. The Mexico native turned in one birdie on the 540-yard par five on hole four in addition to 14 pars in the third round. Barragan had the fourth-best scoring average on par threes, and maintained steady golf with the fourth fewest bogeys and one par short of the most pars in the field. 

Barragan competed in 11 events this season, accumulating a 73.66 scoring average in 32 rounds. Barragan compiled three top-10, five top-15 and six top-25 finishes in 2025-26. 

Out of 33 events in her career, the junior picked up one individual crown, the 2025 USF Invitational title, to go along with four top-5 and nine top-10 finishes. A 73.81 career scoring average came as a result of these finishes.

“She’s got the Epson Tour tournament tomorrow, and then we’ll start to get ready for her senior year, making her as good as we possibly can,” Roberts said. 

Up next for Barragan will be Epson Tour’s Copper Rock Championship at Copper Rock Golf Course in Hurricane, Utah on May 14-16. Barragan tees off the 54-hole event on Thursday at 7:52 a.m MDT. Follow along the live leaderboard on epsontour.com.
