IRVING, Texas — The Big 12 Conference announced its 2025-26 women’s basketball scheduling matrix on Thursday, solidifying BYU’s home and away conference matchups for the coming season.

Second-year head coach Lee Cummard will lead the Cougars through an 18-game conference slate that includes home-and-home series with three teams and single matchups against the other 12 conference opponents, either at home or on the road.

BYU will face the Arizona Wildcats, Colorado Buffaloes and Utah Utes in home-and-home series. The Cougars will face the Utes and Buffaloes at the Marriott Center and on the road for the second consecutive season, while taking the trip to Tucson and hosting the Arizona Wildcats for the first time since 2024.

Away Arizona Colorado Utah Iowa State Texas Tech TCU Baylor Cincinnati West Virginia

Following a 9-9 conference record and two wins in the Big 12 Tournament in Cummard's first season, the Cougars are aiming for a winning record in Big 12 play and a trip to the NCAA Tournament, both of which would be program firsts since joining the Big 12 in 2023.

BYU returns four starters from last season, including All-Big 12 First Team selection Delaney Gibb and Big 12 Honorable Mention Olivia Hamlin. They are joined by returning starters Brinley Cannon, Sydney Benally—who started all 38 games for the Cougars in 2025-26—and Kambree Barber, who made 11 starts.

Bolanle Yussuf, who set the sixth-highest mark in freshman history for blocks and rebounds, returns for her sophomore season. She is joined by sharpshooter Kailey Woolston, a 2024 Big 12 Honorable Mention who returned in December 2025 after serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The Cougars’ returning cast will be joined by North Carolina transfer Liza Astakhova, a sophomore from Moscow who appeared in 12 games for the Tar Heels in 2025-26. Cummard also added an incoming freshman class that includes Prasayus Notoa, who chose BYU over TCU and reigning national champion UCLA; Stella Sakalas of Western Springs, Illinois, the 78th-ranked player in the 2026 class by Prep Girls Hoops; and Vahayliah Seumanutafa of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, who competed for the U19 Australian National Team at the 2024 FIBA Women's World Cup.
