TROPHY CLUB, Texas — BYU women’s golf will start its 2026-27 season at The Bruzzy presented by Ashley Herrera at Trophy Club Country Club on Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 8-9, in Trophy Club, Texas.
Seniors María José “MJ” Barragán and Whitney Banz will lead the starting lineup with several years of experience. Junior Kanyanol (Naji) Aramkul and sophomore Nya Palmer will also make the lineup, while freshman Kate Walker will make her first collegiate start. Freshman Tatum Otto will make her collegiate debut as an individual.
BYU joins 10 other teams in a field that includes tournament host North Texas, Illinois, Louisiana-Monroe, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Texas State, Texas Tech, UTSA and Xavier.
The Cougars will play 36 holes on Tuesday, followed by a final 18-hole round on Wednesday.
Head coach Carrie Roberts, entering her 17th season at the helm, returns seven golfers from last season's squad, including Barragán, who competed as an individual at the NCAA Louisville Regional in 2025-26. She joins Banz and senior Berlin Long as the team’s veteran leaders.
Juniors Aramkul and Ava Schroeder and sophomores Palmer and Aadyn Long complete the group of returning players. BYU added freshmen Otto and Walker to round out its roster.
