PROVO, Utah — Delaney Gibb recorded the first triple-double by a BYU player in 40 years as the Cougars took down Montana 97-53 on Saturday afternoon at the Marriott Center.

Gibb finished with 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists to notch BYU's first triple-double since 1986 and the program's first triple-double with points, rebounds and assists since 1982.

"It looked like a fun game to play in, and then we had an amazing individual statistical night from our point guard. I can't believe that it's been 40 years since we had a triple-double, so that's pretty cool," said BYU head coach Lee Cummard.

Olivia Hamlin led all scorers with 22 points on 9-for-13 shooting, including three 3-pointers. The native of Santa Clara, Utah also chipped in four rebounds, three steals and two assists. Kailey Woolston also finished with 15 points, going 5-for-8 from the floor and 3 of 5 from behind the arc.

Prasayus Notoa contributed 10 points, five rebounds, three assists and a block. Fellow freshman Stella Sakalas added eight off the bench, going a perfect 3-for-3 from the field, including a pair of triples. The Cougars shot 56.1 percent from the field and 48 percent from beyond the arc and finished with 23 assists and 13 steals.

A steal from Hamlin led to another layup, giving BYU a 33-21 lead, extending its run to 10 points.

Paige Lofing knocked down her third 3-pointer of the game to end BYU's scoring streak, but the Cougars answered with free throws from Mariam Traore, a fast-break three from Woolston and a layup from Traore. After another steal by Traore, Gibb added a triple to push BYU's lead to 42-24. Montana responded with a three from Kennedy Moore and baskets from Lofing, but Gibb closed the half with two made free throws to give BYU a 46-31 lead at halftime.

Third Quarter

BYU opened the second half with two made free throws from Woolston before Montana's Lofing answered with another 3-pointer. Hamlin responded with a three of her own, and Gibb found Notoa at the rim for a layup. After an offensive rebound from Taylor, Brinley Cannon knocked down a three to extend BYU's lead. Montana added a free throw from Shay Shippen and a three from Jocelyn Land, but Cannon answered with a layup, followed by two free throws from Gibb to put BYU ahead 60-40.

Fourth Quarter

Hamlin opened the fourth quarter with a make from distance as BYU continued to extend its lead. Hamlin then grabbed an offensive rebound and finished the putback layup before Mariam Traore recorded a steal that led to another fast-break basket from Hamlin. The Santa Clara native completed the three-point play at the free-throw line, then added another fast-break layup after a rebound from Gibb. BYU led 77-49, leading to a Montana timeout.

Sakalas scored a layup coming out of the timeout before Hamlin added another 3-pointer. Sakalas followed with two more triples, while Gibb added a driving layup and assisted Benally on a 3-pointer that secured Gibb's triple-double. Vahayliah Seumanutafa added her first collegiate points with two made free throws before scoring another basket off the glass late in the game to close out a 97-53 victory.
