BYU Athletics is proud to be represented by nine current or former student athletes at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The Cougars’ Summer Olympic tradition began with 1912 high jump gold medalist Alma Richards and now numbers 90 athletes from 29 different countries, including 40 on Team USA. In 2024, BYU qualified a school-record eight Team USA athletes and its most overall Olympians since the 2004 Athens Games.
