- Was co-captain of the cross country team
- Was the Top 10 Texas State Elite runner
- Played for the San Antonio Blazers in club whose team placed fourth in the 4x800M relay at the AAU Junior Olympics in 2004; was also a Junior Olympic qualifier in the 800m
