- Competed in both cross country and track in high school
- In cross country ran all four years in HS, was captain for two years, named first team all-metro league three times, four-time state qualifier named first team all state twice, placed sixth both years, district champion, tenth at the Oregon/Washington Nike Borderclash, best time in the 5K was 18:09
- Ran track for three years, qualified for state once in the 3000M, earned a medal at state, personal best in the 800M was 2:23, 4:42 in the 1500M and 10:18 in the 3000M.
