- Graduated from BYU in 1995 with a major in therapeutic recreation
Prior to BYU
- Served as an undergraduate assistant coach for women's volleyball in 1995
- Served as an assistant women's volleyball coach at Nebraska from 2003-07
- Served as the director of volleyball for the American College Connection, beginning in 1999
- Started Charlene Johnson Whitted Volleyball Camps in 2002
- Served as an assistant coach of either the Youth or Junior National Teams for USA Volleyball from 2010-13

- Played volleyball at BYU from 1991-94
- Played volleyball internationally in Switzerland in 1996
- Played volleyball with the U.S. National Team from 1997-01
- Played volleyball internationally in Italy in 2002
Career Highlights
- Played as the starting setter for the Cougars from 1991-94
- Helped BYU advance to its first-ever Final Four appearance in 1993 as well as an Elite Eight apperance in 1992
- Helped her team to three-straight WAC titles from 1992-94
- Finished her career at BYU second all-time in three categories: career assists (5,321), career assists per game (12.35) and season assists per game (13.13) - a mark that was also fifth in the nation in 1992
- Received two All-America citations and was the only player in BYU women's volleyball history to receive all-region honors in each of her four years
- Earned the Best Setter Award at the Olympic Qualification tournament and a fourth-place finish at the 2000 Summer Olympic Games
- Helped coach Nebraska in her time there to a 124-10 overall record, three Big 12 titles and a national championship in 2006
- Inducted into the BYU Hall of Fame in 2006
