Final Six Home Games

A six-game series in Provo with the Air Force Academy beginning Thursday concludes BYU's regular season.

The Cougars (22-28, 12-12 in the Mountain West Conference) will play three doubleheaders in three-straight days against the Falcons (5-41, 0-22). Thursday and Friday's doubleheaders begins at 4 p.m. with the second game starting close to 7 p.m. Saturday's doubleheader is 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

This week's series will make up a postponed three-game series between the two teams. BYU traveled to Colorado Springs to play Air Force on April 22-24, but weather postponed the series. The Falcons have had eight postponed conference games this year.

The Cougars are 113-21 all-time against Air Force. BYU is 7-3 in the last 10 games against the Falcons and finished 5-1 against them last year. The two schools first met in 1963 for a two-game series. The Cougars won both games.

Patrick Wells (6-4, 5.65) and Paul Jacinto (2-9, 6.14) are scheduled to get the starts for BYU in Thursday's doubleheader. The Cougars' remaining four starters have yet to be announced.

In its fourth full season at Larry H. Miller Field, attendance closes in on the 100,000 milestone. With three home dates left, the Cougars need to draw 4,998 fans to reach the date this year, an average of 1,666 fans per date. BYU is averaging 1,640 fans per game this year, the highest average in the four-year history. So far this year, the Cougars have drawn 19,680 fans to 12 dates.

The first game of all three doubleheaders will be broadcast live by KOVO 960 AM with veteran broadcaster Brent Norton calling the play-by-play. Saturday's 11 a.m. broadcast is also available on the BYU Radio channel on DirecTV and the Dish Network as well as over the Internet. Live stats are available for all six games.
