Wuerffel Trophy watch list includes Adam Pulsipher

FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. – BYU linebacker Adam Pulsipher was named to the 2018 Wuerffel Trophy watch list. The Wuerffel Trophy is awarded to the FBS player that best combines exemplary community service with athletic and academic achievement. 

Pulsipher, a senior in 2018, graduated prior to his junior season with a degree in finance and is currently enrolled in his second year of BYU’s MPA program. He was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team following the 2017 football season and served as the co-president of BYU’s private equity and venture capital club. 

The Temecula, California, product served an LDS mission to Chile and currently serves as co-chair on the student-athlete advisory committee on campus, organizing community service events. He has also worked with the Boys & Girls Club providing tutoring in math, writing, art and physical activity. 

Pulsipher has volunteered in Tonga as a dental assistant for local residents and helped deliver medical supply donations for the government hospital in Nuku’alofa.  He also helps with head coach Kalani Sitake's More2Life Foundation and is active with the team’s True Blue hero program and other service events. 

On the football field, Pulsipher played in 13 games last season, starting five. He totaled 54 tackles, one tackle for loss, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery in 2017. Pulsipher has played in 31 games in his career. 

The Wuerffel Trophy is presented annually at the All Sports Association’s Awards Banquet in Fort Walton Beach.  The award is named after 1996 Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Danny Wuerffel from the University of Florida.

2018 Wuerffel Trophy will occur at the 50th All Sports Association Awards Banquet on February 15, 2019 in Fort Walton Beach.
