NEW ORLEANS – The Manning Award, sponsored by the Allstate Sugar Bowl, has named BYU quarterback Zach Wilson the Manning Award Quarterback of the Week. He earns the honor over seven other Manning Award Stars of the Week after the Allstate Sugar Bowl's Facebook voting contest.
Wilson was 13 of 18 for 232 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in a 55-3 season-opening win over Navy on Monday night. The junior quarterback led the Cougars to scores on seven of his eight drives before exiting the game in the third quarter, including six touchdowns.
The Cougars return to action against Army in West Point, New York., on Sept. 19 on CBS at 3:30 p.m. EDT.
