Good Grief, Curtis Brown

It was all Curtis Brown on BYU's first possession of the game. After picking up 29 yards on two runs, the sophomore running back connected with freshman wide receiver Austin Collie on a 40-yard touchdown pass to give the Cougars a 7-0 first-quarter lead. It was Collie's team leading fourth touchdown of the season, all of which have been 40 yards or more.

One Man Show

Curtis Brown took matters into his own hands in first quarter, accounting for 95 of the Cougars' 96 yards. He carried the ball six times for 55 yards and threw one pass for 40 yards, a touchdown strike to Austin Collie. Brown finished the night with 230 yards of total offense, accounting for 55 percent of the Cougars' total offensive production on the night.

White's First

Spencer White's first-quarter interception was the first of his career. The interception made Wyoming 0-2 inside the red zone. White was credited with a 46-yard return.

First Quarter Scoring

The Cougars held Wyoming scoreless in the first quarter, their fifth first-quarter shutout of the season. BYU has outscored its opponents 34-23 in the first quarter this season.

NCAA Record

Matt Payne's 46-yard, second-quarter field goal tied the NCAA record for consecutive field goals between 40 and 49 yards. Payne tied John Carney of Notre Dame, who set the record with 12 straight field goals during the 1984-85 seasons.

Picking off Wyoming

BYU's four interceptions against Wyoming marked the most interceptions for the Cougars since they had three against USC in 2003. Spencer White, Aaron Francisco, and John Brubidge each had an interception in the first half while Dustin Gabriel intercepted Wyoming's final pass of the night.

Over 100 Again

After amassing 159 yards on 24 carries, Curtis Brown went over 100 yards for the second strait game. In the last three games, Brown has carried the ball 47 times for 358 yards and three touchdowns.

Efficiency Gets the W

The Cougars and Cowboys each had close to the same number of plays, 69 and 67, respectively, but BYU won the yardage battle, out-gaining Wyoming 416 to 322. The Cougars averaged 5.9 yards per play while Wyoming picked up 4.2 per play.

Hitting the 150 Mark, a Key to Victory

In the past 18 games, the Cougars are 17-1 when they rush for over 150 yards.

Fourth-Quarter Scorting

The Cougars scored 14 points in the fourth quarter against Wyoming, marking only the second time this season BYU has scored in the final period. On the season, BYU has been outscored 57-28 in the fourth quarter.
