Anson Winder was the first Cougar to reach double figure points and finished with a career-and game-high 22 points, six assists and three rebounds while filling in for inured Tyler Haws.
True freshmen Frank Bartley IV, Eric Mika and Luke Worthington all recorded career highs in points. Bartley finished with 16 points, Mika finished with 20 and Worthington four.
Bartley also set a career-high for rebounds with seven and minutes played with 19.
Kyle Collinsworth recorded his second double-double of the season, recording 13 points and a game-high 10 rebounds.
Juniors Matt Carlino and Nate Austin finished the game with a stat in every category. Carlino recorded 10 points, eight assists, six rebounds, three steals and one block. Austin had five points, nine rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal.
Skyler Halford scored a career-high 15 points and added one rebound and one assist.
Ten of the 11 players that saw action in the game scored.
Team Notes
Dunks: Eric Mika threw down a two-handed slam for his first dunk of the year in the first half. Kyle Collinsworth drove the lane and found Mika alone underneath for the easy dunk. Mika added two dunks in the first three minutes of the second half. Both were on fast breaks. Kyle Collinsworth threw one down in the second half. Bartley threw an alley oop to Mika for his fourth dunk of the game.
With the game tied at 14-14, BYU used a 23-5 run to break open the game and lead 37-19 with 7:32 left in the first half.
Three Cougars scored in double figures in the first half. Winder led all scorers with 14, Kyle Collinsworth added 11 and Frank Bartley IV pitched in 10.
The Cougars used a different starting five for tonight’s game because Tyler Haws sat out with a lower abdominal strain. The starters for the game were Eric Mika, Nate Austin, Matt Carlino, Anson Winder and Kyle Collinsworth.
Mount Saint Mary’s had 15 fouls in the first half with BYU committing eight. Mount St. Mary's finished with 28 fouls and the Cougars finished with 20.
BYU improved to 179-19 (90.4%) when leading at the half under Dave Rose. Tonight the Cougars led 54-34 at the break.
Six Cougars scored in double figures (Mika, Carlino, Collinsworth, Winder, Halford and Bartley) for the second-consecutive game.
In BYU's first eight seasons under coach Rose, the Cougars scored more than 100 points in nine games. The Cougars have scored over 100 points in two of three games this season.
The last time BYU scored 100 points in back-to-back games happened in 1986 (Nov. 21 and Dec. 3; L 119-110 at Oklahoma, W 100-86 v. Utah State) and the last time BYU won consecutive games while scoring 100 points happened in 1980 (Feb. 28 and Mar. 1; W 107-82 v. Hawaii, and W 114-81 v. SDSU).
Newcomers (Mika, Andrew Johnston, Halford, Bartley and Worthington) combined for 56 of the 108 points for the game.
BYU scored 28 fast break points and held Mount Saint Mary’s to zero fast break points.

How has the team been playing so far this year?
"We are all playing as free and confident as we can. The coaches have instilled a lot of confidence in us and I think it shows. Hopefully we can keep it up."
On the new rules and fouls:
"It’s hard to get used to but we are focusing in on it in practice. I think I’ll figure it out."
How has the transistion to college basketball been?
"We play really similar to how I played last year so that’s really been helping me out."
On not having Tyler Haws in the lineup tonight:
"We all knew we were going to have to fill a couple gaps in the scoring but we knew we were all capable scorers and that if we just moved the ball that’s what we would do."

"I have always had so much admiration for BYU basketball, I'm trying to build our program at Mount St. Mary's and playing against programs like this that have been able to move themselves around to different leagues, that's something all young coaches should be trying to do at this level.
