LOGAN, Utah – The Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference announced junior Shannon Evans as the Gymnast of the Week after scoring a career-best 39.475 in the all-around against Cal and Arizona State.
Evans scored a 9.925 on vault as she was also named Vault Specialist of the Week, sharing the honor with Boise State's Sarah Means. On her way to a 39.475 in the all-around, Evans scored a 9.875 on bars, 9.800 on beam and 9.875 on floor.
Evans has earned at least one MRGC Specialist of the Week honor in all four weeks of competition. For week one, she was named Bars and Floor Specialist, for week two she was named Vault Specialist and for the third week she earned Bars Specialist honors.
The Cougars will travel to Air Force on Saturday, Feb. 9, for a quad-meet with the Falcons, Springfield and Seattle Pacific. The meet is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. MST.
