The Aggies are currently 3-0 in the season. In last year's match, the Cougars came out on top beating the Aggies 6-1 extending their all-time record to 10-1. Aggie head coach Sean McInerney is in his seventh season. Five players return from last year's 12-11 team.

With an 0-2 record, the Lumberjacks have losses to No. 14 Arizona State and the University of Arizona. NAU and BYU faced each other during the Hawaii Invitational earlier this season.
