Richardson And Ferney Lose At NCAAs

STONE MOUNTAIN -- Just one day after winning the national award for sportsmanship, Jodi Richardson and teammate Brooke Ferney lost to Baylor's Katja Kovac and Jahnavi Parakh, 6-3, 7-6 at the NCAA tournament at Georgia State University in Stone Mountain, Georgia.

Richardson and Ferney went into the tournament as the 25th-ranked doubles team in the 34-team tournament before losing to the 21st-ranked Baylor team.

In singles, 44th-ranked Richardson put a scare into 6th-ranked Adria Engel from Arizona State, winning the first set 6-4. Engel came back and defeated Richardson in three sets, winning the next two, 6-2, 6-3.
