BYU Student All-Sport Passes on Sale August 27

The 2002-03 BYU Student All-Sports Pass will go on sale Tuesday, August 27 at 8 a.m., at the Marriott Center Ticket Office. The Student All-Sports Pass is $75 and includes admission to all BYU regular-season, home athletic events. Sales will continue until the passes are sold out.

"The Student All-Sport Pass is one of the best entertainment values for local college students," said BYU marketing director Tony Jewkes. "This year we have reserved approximately 16,000 All-Sport Passes and we project they will go quickly."

The Student All-Sports Card includes a reserve rotated ticket to each home football game, as well as first-come-first-served general admission seating to all men's and women's basketball, men's and women's volleyball, baseball, women's soccer, gymnastics and softball games.

Each student may purchase two Student All-Sports Passes with a valid student ID. BYU will accept student ID cards from BYU, BYU-Idaho, BYU-Hawaii, LDS Business College and Utah Valley State College.

Beginning this fall, a new policy will go into effect that will require those holding a Student All-Sport Pass to show a valid student ID (or spouse ID card) along with each All-Sport Pass at the gate for home games. The ID policy is to ensure that all students who want to purchase the BYU Student All-Sports Pass may do so.

"The demand for student tickets fluctuates from year-to-year," said senior associate athletic director Peter Pilling. "It is important that we have an active student section at our athletic events and we want to make sure we can accommodate all student ticket requests for the 2002 football season."

Pilling understands that students want to be able to use or resale their tickets to family and friends who may not have a student ID. Thus a system has been created that will allow students to purchase a guest pass for those who do not have a student or spouse ID. The guest pass will cost an additional $5 per game for football and $3 per game for basketball. Once a guest pass has been purchased, anyone may use the ticket.

Married students may obtain a student spouse ID card through the Signature Card ID Center, located at 2310 in the Wilkinson Center (behind the Information Desk). There is no change for the student spouse ID card. Student spouses with a valid spouse ID card will not need to purchase a guess pass.

"We want to provide students with a significantly-reduced ticket from what the public pays," said Pilling. "It is entirely fair and equitable that a non-student that uses a student football ticket should pay a rate that is similar to our ticket holders."

In recent years, BYU has sold anywhere from 15,100 to 18,600 Student All-Sport Passes.

"There is a real excitement for the coming football season," said Jewkes. "Our season ticket sales have increased by more than 2,500 from a year ago. We want to make sure that there will be enough student tickets available to meet the demand."
