Arrhenius' Distance Helps Earn Honor

COLORADO SPRINGS -- After posting the third best mark in the nation so far this season and fifth-best in the MWC all-time, freshman Niklas Arrhenius was awarded this weeks MWC Track and Field Athlete of the Week Award.

Arrhenius, an Orem, Utah, native finished third last weekend in the discus throw at the Stanford Invitational in Palo, Alto, Calif. His distance of 195-5 (59.56m) fell behind SMU throwers Michael Robertson and Hannes Hopley, who tossed the two best times in the nation this season, respectively, on Saturday.

In addition to his outstanding performance so far in the outdoor season, Arrhenius placed fifth in the Indoor NCAA Championships to earn his first ever collegiate All-American award.
