PROVO. Utah (March 4, 2004) -- Last weekend the BYU women's team hosted its first Indoor Soccer Invitational in the recently completed Indoor Practice Facility with Utah State, Weber State and Dixie College in attendance.

"It was an outstanding event," said head coach Jennifer Rockwood. "I received positive feedback from all the coaches, players and spectators."

The Invitational took place Saturday afternoon with BYU playing in three 50-minute scrimmages.

The first game matched the Cougars with the Dixie Rebels, the 2003 Junior College National Champion. BYU won the game 3-0 with Bobbi Tillotson notching two goals in the game and Katie Gabbart scoring the other goal.

Facing Weber State, the Cougars again won 2-0. This time it was Nicole Jensen and Krissa Campbell recording the goals for BYU.

In the final game of the Invitational, BYU and USU played to a 1-1 tie. Amberlea Anderson scored the lone goal for the Cougars in the contest.

"I was pleased with our play overall," said Rockwood. "Everybody got to play a lot of minutes."

This Saturday the Cougars head to Logan for a seven-on-seven tournament at Utah State. Most of the schools attending will have two teams in the tournament with each team playing in five 30-minute games. Dixie College, USU, Weber State, UVSC and BYU are all scheduled to attend the tournament.
