PROVO -- BYU Women's Soccer team is hosting a FREE Soccer Clinic for girl soccer players between the ages of eight and 12 on Friday, August 19 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Space is limited to the first 150 girls.
Women's Coach Jennifer Rockwood will be running the camp. Rockwood's teams have made seven NCAA Tournament appearances in the last eight years, including three "Sweet Sixteen" finishes. Rockwood ranks tenth in winning percentage among active NCAA coaches. The talented 2005 Women's Soccer team, including some players who played on the 2003 "Elite Eight" team, will also be on hand to provide instruction.
Coaches and players will be available for autographs after the camp. Each participant will also receive a BYU soccer poster, bumper sticker and ticket voucher to the 2005 Women's Soccer season, as well as other fun prizes.
The Clinic will take place at Haws Field and the Indoor Practice Facility on the BYU campus located directly west of the Smith Fieldhouse. Complete registration forms for each participant (waiver and release forms) must be submitted prior to the Clinic and should be faxed to (801) 422-0699, or sent to: BYU Soccer, 6 Smith Fieldhouse, Provo, UT 84602. The registration deadline is Wednesday, August 17.
Each girl is encouraged to bring her own soccer ball, with her name written on it, to be used during the Clinic.
