PROVO -- BYU women's soccer won two games on Saturday at the Annual BYU Outdoor Invitational, including a 2-0 victory over archrival Utah. The Cougars also defeated Idaho State 1-0.

"We played really well during both games," head coach Jennifer Rockwood said. " We dominated most of the Utah game. It was nice to play our entire team and see the girls step up the way they did. It showed the strength of our young players."

The Cougars played Idaho State in the first game with Carolyn Swenson earning the lone goal. Katie Smurthwaite's hustle play to the lose ball allowed Swenson the easy look at the net.

During the second game, Kelsea Kakadelas and Brooke Bowman both scored goals to propel BYU to the shutout victory over Utah.

The Cougars earned 25 shots in the first game and 21 in the second.

BYU's final day of games for this spring season will be Friday against Weber State and UVSC. Games times are slated for 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., respectively and will be played at South Stadium.
