COLLEGE STATION -- The Cougars came off a stellar weekend beating both the U-20 Women's National Team as well as the Texas A&M Aggies.

"It is important for the growth and exposure of our program that we challenge ourselves against some of the best teams," said head coach Jennifer Rockwood. "This past weekend was a great experience. Getting two wins on the road against top players is a tremendous accomplishment for the team. I hope that these experiences will provide the girls with motivation and confidence as we prepare for the 2007 fall season."

BYU outscored and outshot the U-20 Women's National Team defeating the team 2-0. The first goal was made by forward Katie Fellows in the 40th minute of the game. Fellows was able to score the goal with a header kicked by Andrea Willis.

Fellows went on to score the second goal of the night off a pass from midfielder Carolyn Swenson. Fellows received the ball and dribbled toward the goal, made a quick move around a defender and powered the ball past the keeper with a left-footed strike.

"Katie Fellows had an outstanding game on Saturday," said Rockwood. "She had an offensive presence and continued to be a threat throughout the entire game. She has made solid progress over the spring season and will continue to be a scoring threat each time she steps on the field."

This is the second year that BYU beat the U-20 Women's National Team, beating the team 2-1 last year. The U-20 team is comprised of the top players in the country under the age of 20 from colleges across the nation.

During their spring season, BYU is currently 7-0. The Cougars will face the Trojans of USC and the Boston College Eagles on March 31 in Temecula, Calif.
