Alpharetta, GA -- The BYU men's golf team shot a nine-over-par 297 on Tuesday, the second lowest round of the day, to move up three spots in the US Collegiate in Georgia.

The course played as hard as the first round, the greens were as fast. However the Cougars used what they learned on Monday and had a better round overall. Georgia had the lowest round of the day, a seven-over-par 295 to take the lead of the tournament, two ahead of Clemson.

"The course was as challenging as yesterday," said head coach Bruce Brockbank, "We are adapting a little bit better to the slick greens."

All-American Daniel Summerhays led the Cougars with a three-over-par 75 for a two-over-par total and a tie for fourth after 36 holes. Next is Clay Ogden who improved his first round score by eight strokes to shoot an even-par 72 and moved up 34 spots to finish tied for 29th.

Seniors Nick Becker and Jake Ellison shot five-over-par 77 and two-over-par 74 respectively while freshman Robbie Fillmore shot a four-over-par 76.

Individually Clemson's Tanner Ervin and Wake Forest's Webb Simpson are tied for the lead of the tournament.

The Cougars will play their third and final round on Wednesday with tee times starting at 9:30 a.m. EST.
