PROVO -- BYU junior forward Katie Fellows led all strikers at the Fourth Annual BYU Indoor Tournament last Saturday with four goals in three matches as BYU beat Idaho State (4-0), Wyoming (4-0), and Utah State (1-0) at the BYU Indoor Practice Facility.

Fellows scored one goal against ISU, two against Wyoming, and the lone goals against USU. Other scorers included freshman forward Becca Riddle, freshman Kassidy Christensen, junior forward/midfielder Katie Larkin, and sophomore midfielder Kelsea Kakadelas.

Paired with the dynamic offense, the Cougar defense allowed only two shots between the three games in a shutout on the day. Junior defenders Karen Cook and Jessica Carter anchored the back line while freshman keeper Aleena Shelton tended the net to record her first three shutouts of her career.

"We were very pleased with the players performance on Saturday," BYU head coach Jennifer Rockwood said. "They have been working very hard since the beginning of January and were anxious to play in a real game again. We were able to move the ball well to create a lot of scoring opportunities, and we had some great finishes throughout the day. Our team defense also looked as strong as ever."

The team will continue its spring action March 8th in Phoenix with matches against host Arizona State and Washington State. The Cougars will head to Florida for two matches April 4 before concluding spring competition in Provo April 11 at the Fifth Annual BYU Spring Tournament, which will feature matches against Utah and Utah State along with an Alumni Match.
