PROVO -- The defending Mountain West Conference Champion Brigham Young University women’s soccer team announced the signing of eight highly touted recruits to join the team and help them challenge for a third-straight conference championship.

“This is a tremendous day for the BYU women's soccer program,” said BYU head coach Jennifer Rockwood. “The addition of each of these outstanding young women will greatly enhance the strength of our team and set the course for the future. “I believe that this class will have an immediate impact on our program in the fall and add to the depth of our current roster. Each player has worked hard to prepare for their collegiate careers both on the off the field. They come from successful high school and club programs where they were able to gain valuable training and experience. Our 2009 class is very well balanced from the defensive end through the attack, and will help to increase our overall team speed, strength, and experience. We are anxious for them to arrive on campus.”
