PROVO -- Hundreds of young soccer players have converged on the campus of Brigham Young University to participate in the 2009 BYU soccer camps.
Participants in the “Cubs Soccer” camps range from seven to 12 years old, and are instructed in soccer basics by BYU soccer coaches and current and former BYU women’s soccer team members.
Registration for some Cubs soccer camps is still open. Visit the Cubs Soccer page for more information: http://ce.byu.edu/cw/sportscamps/c_soccer.cfm
All camps feature instruction from BYU women’s soccer head coach Jennifer Rockwood and men’s head coach and women’s assistant Chris Watkins, and are a good opportunity for younger players to refine their soccer skills while increasing technical and tactical knowledge of the game. Campers will participate in demanding training sessions, small–sided games, and plenty of team scrimmages. Soccer Academy camps are geared towards older players in the 10-18 year age range.
Those interested can still register for either the boy’s or girl’s Soccer Academies. To register, visit the Soccer Academies’ page: http://ce.byu.edu/cw/sportscamps/soccer.cfm
