OGDEN -- The men's and women's track and field teams travel to the Wildcat Twilight Invitational on Wednesday night in the Cougars' final meet before the MWC Outdoor Championships next week.

"We've got a lot of guys on the brink of going to conference, so we're hoping we can get some good marks," said BYU men's head coach Mark Robison.

The men are now ranked 11th in the USTFCCCA rankings released today, the Cougars' highest ranking of the year after being ranked 13th last week. The women are currently 27th in the country after taking a break from competition last weekend.

"We're polishing things up getting ready for conference," said BYU women's head coach Craig Poole. "We're going in hoping to get some good quality marks."

The BYU men currently have eight athletes in the top 15 in the country in nine events. Ryan Waite submitted the fourth-best time all year in the 800 meters while Jon Kotter moved up to 13th in the 10,000 meters, both at the Stanford Invitational.

On the women's side, Mindy McClurkin leads the Cougars with three MWC-leading marks in the 100m, 200m and long jump. The women hold three other marks that sit atop the MWC, including the javelin, high jump and the 800m.

The meet begins at 12:30 p.m. in the field with the men's hammer while track competition starts at 3:30 p.m. with the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase.
