PROVO, Utah – BYU will host its seventh annual Football Media Day on Friday, June 23, at the BYU Broadcasting Building.

In addition to the many interview sessions attended by the media throughout the day, fans can expect a day filled with BYU football programming on BYUtv, BYU Radio and other news outlets, including ESPN3. BYUtv will broadcast more than 18-straight hours of programming about BYU football starting at 6 a.m. MDT and running past midnight, including three live specials: The State of the Program, The LaVell Edwards Coaching Tree and a two-hour BYU Sports Nation.
BYU Radio, available on SiriusXM Channel 143 and online at byuradio.org, will provide significant coverage that includes both original content and simulcasts of The State of the Program and BYU Sports Nation. A new show, Behind the Mic with Greg Wrubell, hosted by the Voice of the Cougars, will be broadcast live from 12-3 p.m. MDT, while regular BYU Radio offerings will feature special guests from the football program.
In addition to BYUtv and BYU Radio broadcasts, fans can tune in to BYUtv.org for live web chats at three different times throughout the day—at 8 a.m., 12 p.m., and 3 pm. MDT to hear more from BYU coaches, standout players and a few special guests. Fans can also stay connected with constant social media interaction all day.
Among the highlights of the day are two live shows in addition to a special two-hour BYU Sports Nation. The first live show, The State of the Program, will air at 9 a.m. MDT (11 a.m. EDT) and feature athletic director Tom Holmoe, head coach Kalani Sitake and his coaches discussing the football program as it prepares for the 2017 season. The State of the Program will be simulcast on ESPN3 in addition to BYUtv, BYUtv.org and BYU Radio.
Following the first live show, BYU Sports Nation will air at 10 a.m. MDT (12 p.m. EDT) on both BYUtv and BYU Radio, while being simulcast on ESPN3, with an extended two-hour show featuring live interviews with Coach Sitake, Cougar players and coaches and special guests.
The LaVell Edwards Coaching Tree, a live program airing at 2 p.m. MDT on BYUtv, will honor Coach Edwards through the legacy he left in the coaching world. The one-hour program will feature an in-studio panel that includes Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, former NFL special teams guru Gary Zauner and Virginia Tech defensive backs coach Brian Mitchell with additional contributions from Brian Billick, Mike Holmgren, Mike Leach, Kyle Whittingham, Ted Tollner and Norm Chow.
Fans can also follow the day's events by listening to additional local, live radio broadcasts originating from Football Media Day, including special live coverage on KSL Newsradio from 2-3 p.m. MDT.
If you miss The State of the Program, or The LaVell Edwards Coaching Tree during the day, they will be rebroadcast later during primetime from 6-8 p.m. MT. They will also be available on demand at BYUtv.org along with BYU Sports Nation.
As part of honoring LaVell Edwards, other shows on BYUtv during the day include replays of the 1984 Holiday Bowl between BYU and Michigan and Coach Edwards' final game in 2000 at Utah. Fans can also watch a rebroadcast of Legends – LaVell Edwards and LaVell Edwards: Spirit of Cougar Football.
