PROVO, Utah – BYU women’s soccer head coach Jennifer Rockwood announced the 2018 spring schedule, which begins on Saturday, Mar. 3 against the Utah Royals FC.
The team opens up spring competition as they take on the newest member of the National Women’s Soccer League, Utah Royals FC on Mar. 3. The scrimmage will be closed to the public, but media will be allowed access through the Utah Royals FC media relations office. Former BYU defender Taylor Isom was the No. 14 pick for the Royals at the NWSL College Draft in January.
The Cougars will then host the University of Utah on Mar. 10 at 4 p.m. MST. Location on BYU campus will be announced later, dependent on weather.
On March 17th, BYU will travel to Las Vegas, Nevada to participate in a tournament at UNLV. The first match will be against Cal State University, Northridge and starts at 4:30 p.m. MDT. Later the same day, the Cougars will play against host UNLV at 7 p.m. MDT. Both matches will take place at the UNLV Soccer Complex.
Next, BYU will hit the road to play the University of Arizona and Arizona State on Apr. 7. The game against Arizona will kick off at 1 p.m. MDT and the matchup versus Arizona State will begin at 7 p.m. MDT. The tournament will be played at the Arizona State West Campus.
The Cougars will close out the spring season hosting Utah State on Apr. 14 at 10 a.m. MDT at South Field.
The team will be without the 2017 seniors and the incoming 2018 freshmen class, but will turn to four of the 11 starters from last season: Danika Bowman Serassio, Alyssa Jefferson, Rachel Bingham and Mikayla Colohan.
