LOS ANGELES – Four athletes earned spots on the BYU all-time board as the No. 4/19 Cougars competed at the Bryan Clay Invitational, Mt. SAC Relays and Pacific Coast Intercollegiate on Wednesday and Thursday.

Bryan Clay Invitational

After placing on the BYU top 10 record board twice this season already, Erica Birk-Jarvis finished first in the 3000m women’s steeplechase with a career-best time of 9:55.57 and moved up to No. 4 all-time at BYU. Birk-Jarvis’ finish also set a meet and facility record in the Bryan Clay Invitational at the Azuza Pacific University stadium.

The women’s team increased its number of possible regional qualifiers after Emma Gee took seventh in the women’s steeplechase with a time of 10:19.18 and Sara Musselman placed 13th (10:28.48).

In the men’s 3000m steeplechase, Garrett Marsing clocked 8:59.46 to finish ninth overall. Teammates Cade Perry (9:15.53) and Adam Wood (9:19.21) finished 31st and 38th, respectively, out of 105 competitors.

In the men’s 5000m, Rory Linkletter clocked a career-best 13:36.41 to finish seventh in his heat and earn the No. 7 spot on the BYU record board. Connor McMillan raced in the same heat and took 14th with a time of 13:51.81.

On Wednesday, freshman Aubrey Frentheway placed 11th in her heat in the women’s 10,000m with a time of 35:30.95.

Pacific Coast Intercollegiate

Jacob Foutz threw a career-best mark of 64.28m/210-11 to take first in the hammer throw and earn the No. 10 BYU all-time mark. The senior’s toss beat out his previous personal best from earlier this season by another meter. This performance places Foutz in a position to qualify for regionals.

In the women’s discus throw, Sable Lohmeier earned a personal-best toss of 49.73m/163-02 for a ninth place finish and the No. 10 spot on the BYU record board.

On the women’s side, several Cougars competed in the javelin. Sydnee Muhlestein took sixth with a mark of 42.68m/140-0 and Elyse Cuthbertson finished ninth overall (41.89m/137-05).

Jefferson Jarvis threw a mark of 17.49m/57-04.75 in the men’s shot put to take fifth. For the Cougars, Harrison Gould followed in ninth place (16.88m/55-04.75) and Austin Carter took 12th overall (16.16m/53-00.25).

Mt. SAC Relays

Due to the late start times, the men’s and women’s 10,000m will be included in the Friday recap. However, results can be found before then on recordtiming.com.

The Cougars will continue competition at the Bryan Clay Invitational, Mt. SAC Relays Pacific Coast Intercollegiate and Beach Invitational tomorrow. Official results, live stats and streaming options for all four meets can be found on the BYU track and field schedule page.
