PROVO, Utah – BYU women’s volleyball is ranked No. 16 in the nation in the preseason AVCA DI Coaches Spring Poll released on Monday.

The Cougars return two All-America honorees in 2021, senior Kennedy Eschenberg and sophomore Whitney Bower. The team returns a total of 11 members from last year’s squad along with four newcomers.

BYU has been ranked in the AVCA Top 25 for 106-consecutive weeks dating back to Oct. 7, 2013. Under head coach Heather Olmstead, the Cougars have never been ranked lower than No. 17 nationally.

Last season, BYU finished No. 17 in the final poll after finishing with a 26-5 record and claiming its eighth-straight NCAA Tournament berth.

The Cougars have been ranked in the preseason top 25 each year since 2013 and 31 times since 1982, including 15 appearances in the top 10.

BYU has only announced its conference schedule at this time, with No. 23 San Diego being the only current opponent listed in the preseason poll.
