BYU last competed against SUU on Friday, Feb. 3 at the America First Event Center in Cedar City, Utah. Despite notching seven new career high scores, the Cougars fell to No. 21 SUU 196.925-196.475.
THE THUNDERBIRDS. The Southern Utah Thunderbirds last hosted BYU on Friday, Feb. 3 and took home the victory. After posting their new season-high team score of 196.925, the Thunderbirds moved up one spot in the national rankings to No. 21. SUU has now won four meets in a row, and Karley McClain won MRGC Gymnast of the Week for her fifth time this season.
THE COUGARS. The Cougars competed against SUU last Friday, notching a team score of 196.475. BYU notched its highest team vault score of the season with a 49.225, led by Kylie Eaquinto’s career-high score of 9.900. With a 9.925, senior Lindsey Hunter earned MRGC Co-Bars Specialist of the Week. Sophomore Mina Margraf also earned an MRGC weekly award with a 9.925 on the beam apparatus.
