Wednesday’s award marks the third weekly conference honor for Tiffany this season. The Big 12 previously named Tiffany men’s Newcomer of the Week on Oct. 4 and Oct. 18. Thirteen BYU athletes have garnered weekly honors in the Cougars’ inaugural Big 12 season. Tiffany and Erin Livingston of women’s volleyball lead all BYU athletes with three such honors.

Tiffany’s Mizzou Invitational resume included five event wins (two relays) and setting or contributing to five new school records.

The freshman from Pleasant Grove, Utah continued his dominance in the 100 fly by breaking his own school record to win the event at 44.85. Tiffany then finished Nov. 15 competition with a school-record 45.24 in the 100 back as he led off the men’s 400 medley relay. At 45.25, Tiffany overtook All-American Jake Taylor’s previous record of 45.34 set in 2015. Tiffany’s strong start to the relay sparked a school record performance from Brad Prolo, Tanner Edwards and Luigi Riva as the foursome finished the 400 MR in 3:06.70.

Tiffany led off the 200 medley relay squad on Nov. 16 with a school record 21.20 in the 50 back, upending Taylor’s previous record of 21.44. Prolo, Edwards and Riva then built on Tiffany’s success to record the program’s all-time fastest 200 MR time of 1:24.49 in a win over host Missouri.

Tiffany’s second and third individual event wins came with a 45.42 in the 100 back and 42.60 in the 100 free; the program’s second-fastest all-time.

After the weekend’s competition, Tiffany is now ranked sixth and ninth nationally in the 100 fly and 100 back, respectively. The squads of Tiffany, Prolo, Edwards and Riva are tied for 13th nationally with Auburn in the 200 MR and stand alone at 15th in the 400 MR. Tiffany also sits at 28th in the 100 free.

BYU swimmers will be back in action at the Toyota U.S. Open in Greensboro, North Carolina Nov. 29-Dec. 2.
