Cougars head to San Diego for USTA Intercollegiate Classic

Three Cougars are set to head off to California for the USTA Intercollegiate Classic this weekend. The USTA Intercollegiate Classic will feature both singles and doubles draws for players attending the event.

SAN DIEGO — Three Cougars are set to head off to California for the USTA Intercollegiate Classic this weekend. The USTA Intercollegiate Classic will feature both singles and doubles draws for players attending the event.

BYU's roster for the upcoming matches includes Jacque Dunyon, Kendall Kovick and Tina Li, who will compete in singles. Dunyon and Li will form the sole double tandem for the tournament. The singles and doubles matches are scheduled to take place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, September 21-23.

The Cougars

Jacque Dunyon

The junior hailing from Huntsville, Utah, returns after a successful sophomore season, boasting 13 singles wins and nine doubles victories.

Kendal Kovick

The junior from Henderson, Nevada, will be making her Cougar debut after recently transferring from West Virginia. 

Tina Li

Li, a sophomore from Auckland, New Zealand, returns after having a successful freshman campaign posting 15 singles victories and 11 doubles victories in 2022-23 for BYU. 

Coaching Staff

Head coach Holly Hasler is in her sixth season at BYU, entering the year with a 58-46 all-time record with the Cougars.

Assistant coach Gabby Curtis, in her third season with the Cougars, played collegiately at USC, amassing 72 career singles wins and 73 career doubles victories during her time with the Trojans from 2015-2017.
