BYU opens spring football practices Thursday

BYU football held its first spring practice in preparation for the 2024 season on Thursday.

PROVO, Utah — BYU football held its first spring practice in preparation for the 2024 season on Thursday.

The Cougars practiced outside on day one of 15 scheduled practices from now until the end of March. 

"There is a lot of leadership coming back and a lot of productivity coming back," head coach Kalani Sitake said. "We've had a really good offseason so far. Its showing. The guys look really good." 

Sitake, quarterbacks Jake Retzlaff and Gerry Bohanon, along with defensive end Tyler Batty all spoke to members of the media following practice. Watch their interviews below.
