EIGHT GYMNASTS NAMED TO ACADEMIC ALL-BIG 12 TEAM

Eight BYU gymnasts were named to the 2024 Winter Academic All-Big 12 Team.

IRVING, Texas ‒ Eight BYU gymnasts were named to the 2024 Winter Academic All-Big 12 Team. Anna Bramblett, Kylie Eaquinto, Melissa Earl, Mina Margraf, Olivia Matern, Eliza Millar-Crossman, Heidi Schooley and Elease Rollins were amongst 43 gymnasts across the Big 12 conference to receive this honor.

BYU earned the second-most honorees of any gymnastics team in the Big 12 Conference, with Iowa State having the most with 10.

To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 20 percent of their team’s scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.

A total of 604 student-athletes have been named to the 2024 Winter Academic All-Big 12 Team. There were 506 Big 12 athletes honored on the First Team, with 60 of those posting 4.0 grade point averages. An additional 98 student-athletes earned Second Team distinction.

First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.

The team recognizes the academic accomplishments of student-athletes at Conference institutions that participate in winter sports. The sports included for the winter season are men’s basketball (36), women’s basketball (44), equestrian (66), gymnastics (43), men’s swimming and diving (45), women’s swimming and diving (95) and wrestling (147).
