PROVO, Utah – BYU women's tennis was picked to finish ninth in the Big 12 preseason poll, the league announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Oklahoma State claimed the top position in the annual poll, earning eight first-place votes. Texas followed closely in second place with two four-place votes, while Oklahoma secured the third spot with a first-place vote. Newcomer UCF was predicted to finish fourth, and Baylor rounded out the top five, securing a first-place vote. The rest of the top ten included Texas Tech, Kansas, TCU, BYU, and Kansas State, with Iowa State, West Virginia, Cincinnati, and Houston placed 11-14.

BYU, under the leadership of sixth-year head coach Holly Hasler, who boasts a record of 58-47 during her tenure in Provo, is ready to face the challenges of the Big 12.
After a promising 13-9 (6-3 WCC) campaign in 2023, the Cougars aim to make a significant impact in their inaugural year in the new conference.
Eight players from last year's roster return, including Emilee Astle, Jacque Dunyon and Bobo Huang, and are ready to usher BYU into the Big 12.
The 2024 season kicks off today as BYU competes in the Weinman Foundation Invitational in Hawaii.
